I put in the Blu Ray disc Beauty and the Beast and the the movie brightens for a little while and then dims. I was just wondering if its a problem with the player, the disc, or does that movie just work that way?

I have a Panasonic SA-HT940 home theatre system and the HDMI port is messed up so I am looking into buying a new dvd player. I am wondering if it is possible to hook up a new dvd or blu-ray player to the old surround sound speaker system.

i recently purchased a new 3d tv and it came with the 3d blu ray player. when i am watching the tv the sound is fine and having the volume around 20-25 is good. however when i watch blu rays on the player i have to crank the volume up to the 90′s to hear what is going on. I am using a hdmi cord to connect the two. So how do i improve the sound for my blu ray movies?

We are going to buy an HDTV this weekend and are considering buying a blu-ray player as well. We do not want to replace our entire collection of DVDs. We’ve heard that blu-ray makes standard DVDs look better, but we’ve also heard they make them look horrible. Which is it? Suggestions on brand would be helpful as well.

I’m just wondering what features I should look for in a Blu-Ray player.
What is the difference between lower and higher priced ones?
Are there some major features that some players have that others don’t?
I’m thinking of getting like a $200 one (not sure which one yet). Will I likely be missing out on some features if I get a $200 blu-ray player?
Thanks for any info.

I’m looking for Blu-Ray player with BD Live and a connection for Sirius or XM. I really like to get one that is a recorder IF it’s worth it. I am also looking for one that can upscale DVD’s running a 5.1 channel digital or analog outputs.
Thanks.
