Can setting the contrast/backlight settings on my LED TV to a high value damage it? Also what are the optimal settings for safe use?

Just bought a new samsung led-lcd 46” 1080p tv and want to know if anyone knows the best way to set up the picture to make it look spectacular. Thanks.

I have an Insignia IS-LCDTV26 and the picture is alright right now, but i wanted to get the settings as good as they can be so i can really enjoy the experience of having an hdtv. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
