What do I need to get a HD ready tv to work with Blu – Ray player?

I bought a friend’s HD Ready Sony Projection TV (Model KP-57HW40) that comes HD Ready. I’m not very technical but I understand this isn’t a HDTV per se but is HD Ready. What do I need to get in order to view things in HD and get a Blu-Ray player? Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If it’s HD ready it means it needs an HD source to feed it an HD pic. It has no internal tuner so you can’t use an antenna to pull in over the air HD signals.

So you’ll need either a cable or satellite HD box for tv, attached to the tv with Component (red/green/blue) video cables and red/white audio cables, or if your tv has HDMI inputs, you can use HDMI to attach the cable box, but I don’t think HD ready tvs have HDMI.

Then you get a Blu Ray player and attach it with component and audio cables also, you should have two component inputs on the back of the tv.
